Linda Mackley grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa. She started honing her skills as a drummer / percussionist by taking lessons from the "One & Only" "Babe Fabrizi" Back in the day, Babe used to hang out with Buddy Rich and Louie Bellson. She played around the tri-state area with two of Pittsburghs most popular bands "Harombee" & "Axys". Linda also played marimba, vibes, xylaphone,and other assorted percussion instruments in The Carnegie Mellon Honors Band and they performed at the prestigious Heinz Hall.
While living in New York she has had the opportunity to play and record with many different bands and songwriters. Experiencing all different genres of music have contributed to her versatility and sensitivity as a player. She has performed throughout Japan, Korea, Phillipines, Guam, Hawaii, etc. Here in New York she has played at venues such as Nassau Coliseum , Calderone Theatre, Brooklyn Academy of Music, North Fork Theatre, Patchogue Theatre, and the Apollo Theatre. Linda also sings lead and background vocals with several of the following bands: The Stanton Anderson Band, The Fugitives, Bugs Moran, Coolfish, Tin Pan Alley, and The Jim Small Band. She has been working with the gifted and talented Jo Gabriel on their second Cd which will be released in the fall. The first Cd titled "Island" was released internationally and received extensive airplay and press in Germany.
